Hyperion
The ion imaging TPX3CAM
“With Hyperion you can perform high resolution, real-time ion imaging with ultra high Signal-to-Noise Ratio”
Key Features
High hit and event rates
Capable of reading out 80 Mhits/s per chip Hyperion ensures rapid data collection. This high-speed capability is essential for experiments requiring real-time analysis and high temporal resolution, making it ideal for both dynamic VMI studies and detailed mass spectrometry analyses.
Multi-hit detection capabilities
Because each pixel functions independently, there is zero dead-time between hits. Therefore, the detector can handle multiple hits effectively, even in high rate applications, with continuous data acquisition and no data losses.
Atmospheric pressure operation
No need for vacuum conditions. Hyperion operates efficiently at atmospheric pressure with zero noise, unline traditional MCP-based systems.
High Signal-to-Noise Ratio
Only active pixels surpassing electronic noise are read out, ensuring clearer, more accurate images with a reduced data overload.
“Hyperion addresses the limitations of frame-based cameras with its event-driven approach. By capturing only non-zero pixel events, it drastically reduces data output while maintaining high event rates.”
Why should you land on Hyperion?
Escape the 2D Limit
Converting 2D data from CMOS cameras into a 3D image is hectic, prone to errors and time-consuming. Hyperion offers data-driven 3D detection, i.e. simultaneously capturing particle arrival time, position and intensity, giving you a comprehensive view of your data.
Easy Synchronisation
Hyperion can be seamlessly integrated with external devices and synchronised through TDC, eliminating the headaches of managing multiple devices independently.
Precision Timing with TDCs
Utilising Time-to-Digital Conversion (TDC), Hyperion timestamps with a resolution of 260ps, enable you to precisely track the timing of ion events.
No need for gating
Bid farewell to the need for gating in your experiments. Hyperion allows you to detect all particles without any gating requirements, streamlining your workflow.
Handle big data with confidence
We understand the challenges of computational intensity and data overload. With Hyperion and Luna, you can confidently manage large datasets, ensuring precise and efficient results for your research.
Our Luna post-processing suite streamlines data management, allowing you to focus on the science. Luna efficiently handles the computationally intensive task of sorting event-based data from Timepix3 and transforms them in hdf5 format. This enables immediate use in Python or any other language of your choice for further analysis.
